Actually I think he might turn out to be a pretty good HC. Okay yeah, he definitely made a mistake not kicking at least one FG instead of going for it 4 times in a row. That was dumb. But he's also the youngest HC in the league, I think. In his first HC position. He's bound to make some mistakes early. But let's be honest, the first time he coached against KC, he won using the same strategy. It's pretty darned aggressive for a defensive coach. He'll never be Vic Fangio, that's for certain. This guy has no problem taking chances.

IF, and that's still a big "IF," he learns from these mistakes, he could end up being a pretty successful coach in this league, imo.

Maybe it's just me but the guy looks and sounds like a leprechaun. Doesn't have that imposing presence that earns your respect. The great coaches in the league need to have that. I could see him have a Norv Turner type career where he sort of hangs around and bounces from team to team.

I could see going for it the first time, not knowing if the Chiefs were going to score at will.

By the time the game had settled in and it was obvious that we were struggling, he should've started just taking the points.

By the time we caught fire it would've been too late.

He did not adjust to the flow of the game. Too rigid. It's the same thing as the coaches that NEVER take chances. You have to have a feel for your guys and the flow.

I think he called the right game but they didn’t execute. They had 14 points that they bobbled and the play calls completely caught us off guard.

We’ll I guess the first one the guy got knocked out so that’s not technically anybodys fault

Agree completely

The Chiefs won the game bc he kept them in it with those decisions

And now apparently they’re peeing down their leg losing to the Texans is absurd.

Having said all that I think he might be a pretty good coach that will grow into the job.

Herbert needs to as well. Seems like every throw from that dude is a missle, never any touch.

I dont know if hes a good coach or not yet. His offense does seem well suited for Herbert and helps get him some easy yards on 1st and 2nd downs (Herbert hasn't been a great 3rd down QB so far). I love that he goes for it and understands possessions are undervalued currently in football but coaches really shouldn't be making these decisions. If I was a coach I would have a couple situational analytical people to tell me what the win probability of each potential decision and only pick the decisions that maximizes win percentage (like duh obviously) but still too many coaches shoot from the hip. Because if they didnt, EVERY above avg offense should go for two in the first half and no coaches are doing this yet.

I like him. You only have to shoot 50% on 4th and goal to break a little more than even.

That loss yesterday isn’t looking good at all from a coaching perspective.

No sh*t. That’s bad. Contenders don’t lose to bottom feeders in December. Just should not happen.

For a QB the media says is so great he does lose alot. Not all on him of course. There are two sides to the team but I know this much. Mahomes gets no break no matter what from the media. We lose a game and it's his fault. Period.

Too young. There is nothing great about him. He was a star DC when he had the Rams guys and now his defense sucks. Why was he hired? Because of what? What the hell did he do to make them think he was a great fresh football mind? I hope they keep him because he knows jack shit.
