Never been a better time to be a chiefs fan

Today's loss sucked. a lot.

But the sweet prospect of success on any given weekend, playoffs included, makes being a fan of the team and the sport a lot more enjoyable than it was the last couple of decades. Ive been a fan since 95, a serious fan since '05. Doesn't make me a veteran by any means - there are people here and elswhere that would consider me a (clueless) noob. But i have vivid memories of Pioli being weird in the front office, of Haley having to yell at Croyle because he'd forgotton to snap the ball, and for the depth at QB to be such that people were enthusiastically campaigning for Damon Huard to be given the starting job. I used to wake up monday morning, check the scores, roll my eyes at the chiefs score and go back to bed. They were very rarely on TV here as we really only get the main CBS game, the main FOX game and the Sunday/Monday night games. Now, I wake up to watch them as they are usually playing in one of those games!

The team got within a couple of plays of being eliminated earlier (last week), and a couple of plays of making the SB. There's not much more you can ask for as a sports fan. Mistakes were made. Next season, different mistakes will be made.

Go chiefs!

Shit happens. Can't really be that mad for not making a 3rd straight SB. Team looked exhausted in the second half. The gas tank ran empty.

It's not over. Bengals haven't won anything yet. Lose the SB and Joe's run is worthless. We have a ring and you don't yet. Not it mention Browns and Ravens will be coming fir their revenge. Let's see if Joe can do it year in and year out. He looks lucky to me for one year.

What makes this loss so hard to swallow is that...well...it was on the offense...specifically Mahomes. He made terrible decisions and just flat out sucked balls in the 2nd half. The Bengals overcame an 18 point deficit, largest in AFCCG history. And they did it because the Chiefs had a bunch of unforced errors in the 2nd half. Defense held a high powered offense to 24 points in regulation...the Chiefs had scored 21 in the first half. This game should have been over. But the O played inexplicably horrible football in the 2nd half, and lost us the game.

BUT...we've never seen him do THAT before on that large of a stage, against a team who is frankly inferior. For whatever reason, this was a horrible anomaly. We'll be back. We'll re-tool this off season and we'll again be one of the most feared teams in the NFL. But you can't seriously think that we're just gonna go to three SB's in a row like it's nothing. That is HARD to do. We've been spoiled, and we're licking our wounds, but we've never seen such awesome football from our team like we have over the last 4 seasons, and there is no reason to think that is going to just come to an end.

Go Chiefs.

Not going for the FG and a 14 point lead going into halftime is what doomed these CHIEFS. The CHIEFS should have scored 24 points in the first half. If they would have the CHIEFS would have won this game in regulation.

**** it, at this point I'm not making any predictions. If the Chiefs can shit the bed epically, so could the Rams.

...But I'm inclined to agree. Bengals will lose, in all likelihood badly. But...who knows...

I'm not anti Bengals by any means. Or pro Rams either. Honestly, I don't know...but my gut tells me the NFL wants the Rams to win.
