I’m really torn on this. This year he hasn’t produced enough plays to make me excited about him staying whatsoever. On the other hand does he lift the morale of our defense that’s why they had a spell where three got significantly better?

I think the competition, or lack there of, is why they got significantly better.

I'm not going to pretend I know why all the problems existed but those two Bengals games were identical. Whatever lessons we should have learned from the 1st loss - we didn't.

Another point is that it was very rare when we needed the D to step up and get a stop/turnover at a key point in the game did we actually get it.

If you have a solid team Pat doesn't have to play excellent every week to win. You need a QB to not play poorly but your defense should be contributing to wins.
