Mathieu was the most important part of stabilizing things in the secondary and getting us to respectable enough defense to win a Super Bowl.

That won't be forgotten. But it's time for both sides to part ways on good terms. He's getting older, wants a ****ton of money that we don't have, and has gotten more annoying on social media as the years have gone on.

Yeah, we might get worse at the position next year, but we have to look to the future, not just one season at a time.
