I wanna see Allen do it against an elite opponent against a better secondary unit than that of his own team and facing a better QB than himself. If he can beat Mahomes this Sunday and later in the playoffs, I will bow down with nothing but respect. That's a gigantic IF.
KC secondary looked pretty bad against the Raiders a few days ago. They gave up 2 deep ball TD’s along with multiple deep shot pass interference penalties in the same drive to setup an easy TD. Josh Allen is much better than Derek Carr. It won’t be shocking if he torches the Chiefs defense.

It's mindnumbing to me how people in the media consider the Bills a better team. How? Based on what?
You're looking at this through rose-colored glasses. The bills probably have the best roster in the NFL.

I saw it a bit different. The biggest issue the Chiefs D had Monday night was getting gashed in the run game. Starting the drive that ended with the bomb to Adams, the Chiefs have given up roughly 260 yards of offense (split roughly 50/50 between run and pass). It was the Raiders ability to run that opened up the passing game IMO. I am not suggesting that the pass D did not have some issues, but most of Carr's passing was in two plays. One a deep shot on a 4th and 1 that caught the Chiefs with their pants down and one that Carr made an incredible throw into decent coverage.

Spags also got caught playing a bit too aggressive and got caught with the Raiders in favorable matchups resulting in some of the PIs. Spags adjusted and took most of that away rest of the game.

I also think Spags plays this game differently than how we played the Raiders. I anticipate we will play far more conservatively and play back in much the same fashion most teams play Patrick.

One good bit of news is that the Bills don’t have a running back anywhere near the talent of Jacobs, nor do they even try to run with their backs.

They only have 74 carries amongst all of their running backs so far. Which I’m pretty sure is the lowest in the league.

Josh Allen is their running game essentially, which still seems reckless to me. It may work for awhile, but those hits add up.

Running your QB is a great weapon… until they finally take one hit too many.

If they CAN do it and do it as a final counter (or something you pull out when it matters most like KC does with Mahomes), great. But if it’s a key part of your success … points to Cam Newton.

Who’s the spy on Josh Allen when he takes off running?

Bolton?
Harris?

Yeah, their run blocking is the worst in the league. They're as imbalanced as the Chiefs were two years ago.

KC had fairly good coverage on that last bomb to Adams. That's a throw that won't be completed often by any QB, including Allen.

Bolton. He can probably tackle JA without being dragged for 2 - 3 extra yards.

Not to specifically point a finger at you, but your post highlights a thought I've had.... and that's wondering what people really expect from the defense in this era of the NFL.

And there are clearly over the top badness at times, like 250 yards rushing against the Ravens last season, or "college wide open" issues last season with completely blown coverages, and relatively smaller rookie mistakes like DPIs for not playing the ball.

After that.... there are reasons why these offenses put up 30 points per game, and even when we thought the Chiefs were going up against a really good Saints defense a couple years ago or the Bucs prior to losing their entire offensive line, or the Bills defense last postseason.... it didn't matter.

Yeah, they'll probably get torched against Josh Allen because every defense in the league gets torched by Josh Allen... and their defense will probably get torched by Mahomes because every defense in the league gets torched by Mahomes. /minirant

Josh Allen will end up Cam Newton at this rate, Newton won and MVP played in a SB and never got hurt...until he did and he was done in the snap of a finger.

They keep playing him this way and Josh Allen will be a scrub before he's 30.

Yeah no chance.

Comparing Cam to Josh Allen is just a no-go. Not even remotely similar.

I keep thinking a concussion might get Allen but the guy seems impervious to injuries. It would be a game changer if a QB in this game gets up wobbly because they are automatically out of the game.
