It comes with the territory. We hear all about Allen’s “total touchdowns” but rarely hear about his total turnovers, which are also higher because the Bills use him as a fullback near the goaline

Wharton adjusts their pass rush package, but if Danna is back I think that helps make up for some of that.

Re: S, I liked what we saw from Bush in the preseason and he's got some experience. I think he can do a credible job as the 3rd S, especially filling in the role that Cook had (which had more middle of the field responsibilities).

Like I said earlier, I actually like the matchups of Williams/Watson against Davis. They're big enough and fast enough to press him and run with him, which I don't think Fenton is.

It would be great to have McDuffie available just because he's so damn solid and talented. It also would be great to have Gay's speed and explosiveness available at the second level.

But even with the guys who are out, when I look at this D I like it more than the D the Bills saw in the playoff game (especially after Mathieu left that game with the concussion he sustained trying to tackle Allen).
Yep. That's what we should be comparing it to. We know they're not going to shut the Bills down, but if last year's D (without Mathieu) could force them to punt on almost half their possessions, I think this defense is capable of slowing them down a little. There were also a couple flukey plays like Hughes falling down and leaving Davis wide open for a score on 4th and long.

He was a bit of a “bro” in the past which I can understand turned some people off.

He has been very hard to dislike the last 3 years or so.

Then maybe, you know, he shouldn't run as much if he can't hold on to the ball. Not to mention, he won't last as long in the NFL running it.

There’s also Skip Bayless, the Tom Brady fanboy and Oklahoma Sooners fanboy who has attacked Mahomes on TV every day for 5 years. He’s pissed that a kid from Texas Tech (instead of Baker Mayfield or Kyler Murray) ended up being a superstar QB in the NFL. Patrick has been gracious enough to do multiple interviews with Bayless. He should not give that troll the time of day.
Bayless talks shit on popular players for ratings. Part of his schtick. Mahomes, Aaron Rogers, Lebron… he even did it to Dak despite being a cowgirl fanboy. I think Brady is the only athlete safe from his barbs. Would love to see him fight Lebron in a celebrity boxing match. That might be the only time that I find him entertaining.

I'm always flabbergasted when NFL QBs have crossed the line of scrimmage but they are waving the ball around one handed instead of cradling it like a RB would. That comment not just directed at Allen.

But from my limited watching, Allen does run too often and he does run into contact. Designed runs up the middle on first downs in the first quarter? Running in the fourth quarter when you're up 3 scores. Not sliding, going out of bounds in time...

So did Cam Newton for years. Eventually it caught up to him.

I think Buffalo should be more careful with Allen. He’s great enough throwing the ball that they should save the running plays with him for close games in the 4th quarter. I thought it was really strange when they had him running the ball during the 4th quarter of their blowout win against the Rams in Week 1.
