I don’t see much talk about Pacheatcode becoming the new #1

Everybody was pounding the table for Clyde—their favorite player to hate—to be demoted. And what do you know. The very next week, Andy gave you your wish. Yet nobody cares?

Let the reign of Pacheatcode begin.

Just wow. That’s a 2nd and 1 play that they have set up perfectly for an easy move the chains play and he gets nothing.

I remember seeing this live during the game and thought welp at least it is only 2nd down. I guess that new age helmet he is wearing that is supposed to help with vision isnt that good after all.

Meh.

I mean, sure, it sure looks like he had open field to his right. Of course, no one is mentioning 45 standing right there looking right at him just 4-5 yards off the LoS waiting for the cutback.

But that was literally his first run of the day. He's obviously just trying to follow his blocking. Most RBs need a few snaps, or even a couple drives to get warmed up, and most people just don't realize that.

But CEH has seemed kind of stuck on following his blocks blindly. I'd personally like to see him ad lib more. Just try the cutback a few times a game and see what happens. Hell, he's supposed to be elusive in open space 1v1 with the defender. Maybe he makes 45 miss. And he didn't even have to make 45 miss completely to convert. Just enough for him to slither forward a couple yards.

But that play was blown up by 90 and 29. No RB was going to convert on that play as it unfolded. Just simply that the 49ers defense played that down as well as it could be played.

Sorry, I have to make one correction: Barry Sanders is the one RB in NFL history that turns the corner on that blown up play and converts for the first, if not a huge gain/TD. Otherwise, if you're anybody else you're ****ed. 49ers D won that snap. Shit happens.

Sure, I hope Pacheco turns into a pro bowler but right now his hype train is running exclusively on angst about CEH and wishful thinking.
Reading between the lines, it's pretty clear that the staff sees him as a more talented player than CEH. Would they have hyped him so much in training camp if he was showing less than CEH? No. They've never even hyped CEH in training camp.

Even if he had the same vision problems as CEH (I don't think so--I think that's way overblown), he's way stronger, faster and more explosive.

It's not hard to be more talented than CEH, he's small, slow and lacks vision.

Yes, hell of a play by smith. He blocks two by creating that much movement. And great play call also with taking advantage of Bosa running up field. Andy’s too good for that.

Do you notice that, too? It seems like he makes three cuts and jukes on every step. It makes me dizzy.

I found a clip of Pacheco running versus Clyde running below. Check out the difference in style and speed.

You, sir, are correct.

In fact, McKinnon has led the backfield in snaps every week except for week 4.

Yeah, feel free to post the whole thing with Warner visible, but based on what we can see here, he should have been able to get the 1st down and that's really all that matters.

That is exactly why Oklahoma drills are a thing in high school and college ball.

Fred Warner is not just 'some guy.' He's a two-legged run-seeking missile. One of the best to ever do it.

And he wasn't 8 yards off the LoS, because he's not some rookie.

He was no more than 5 yards from the LoS, staring CEH down.

If CEH tried to cut that back, no doubt Warner drives down and tackles him. Because Fred is one of the best open field tacklers in the NFL.

The only question is IF Clyde had tried the cutback, could CEH have made enough of a move on Warner to get two yards. The advantage was in favor of Fred stopping any of our RBs short of the line to gain. He's just that good.

But like I said earlier, I'd like to see him at least try a couple times a game, instead of always blindly following his blocks.
