Time for our annual poll. We've reached the halfway point of the season, somehow. The NFC has had a lot of underachieving teams but the AFC has several teams with winning records. Who is the best team in the AFC? Who are the teams to watch out for in the second half? Poll coming.

I like Chiefs chances down the stretch. Ravens have injury concerns right now, so do Chargers. Jets, meh, not concerned. Bills, well, they lost to Miami and the J-E-T-S! Miami - this would be the concern in my book. Bears did give them a good fight though. Let us see how say, the next 3 weeks play out and revisit this OP.

2022 NFL midseason predictions: Picking Super Bowl, playoff teams and final standings for all 32 teams

We're just about at the midway point of the 2022 NFL season, and things have been... interesting so far this year. The league has quickly separated itself into tiers with a few elite squads, a few dregs, and then everyone else who is seemingly of roughly similar quality.

That makes predicting what will play out the rest of the way quite an arduous task. Nevertheless, it is one we have decided to undertake. In the space below, you will see our revised season predictions. We did this exercise before the start of the season, but armed with new information, we're giving it another go.

What did Jason La Canfora, Pete Prisco, John Breech, Ryan Wilson, and myself predict? We're glad you asked, because the answer to that question is contained below. Here are a few notes before we get to the projected standings for each division, wild card teams, and Super Bowl participants:

Our panelists agreed far more about how things will shake out in the AFC than the NFC, which makes sense given how this season has gone so far.

Three of the eight divisions had a unanimous order of finish: AFC East, AFC South, and NFC East.

We had six unanimous playoff participants in the AFC: the Bills, Titans, Ravens, Chiefs, Dolphins, and Bengals.

There were only four unanimous playoff teams in the NFC: Eagles, Vikings, 49ers, and Cowboys.

Other teams receiving at least one vote to make the playoffs were the Chargers, Patriots, Giants, Packers, Buccaneers, Saints, Falcons, and Seahawks.

Our experts combined to have a total of five different teams playing in the Super Bowl. Only one panelist (myself) did not change his Super Bowl matchup from preseason to midseason, though multiple panelists kept the same champion and just changed up who that team will defeat. We have three different teams predicted as Super Bowl champions, two from the AFC and one from the NFC.

2. (AFC West Champion) Chiefs

There is no team the computer likes more right now than the Chiefs (6-2). According to SportsLine, the Chiefs have a 93.2% of chance of winning the AFC West, which is the highest percentage for any division leader in the AFC. The Chiefs also have a 99% chance of making the playoffs, which means the computer basically views them as a lock.

Laugh @ YOU for laughing @ Dolphin votes...The same Dolphins who beat the Bills. The same Bills who are 0-2 in their division...The Bills might be better than the Dolphins in the long run, but they're not going to have a cake walk in that division, in large part, because of the Dolphins. If the Bills slip, the Dolphins will take that division. Let's see who gets the last laugh.

It's funny how things change as the season progresses.

We should never look at the schedule before the season like it really matters much as we just have no clue from year to year who's gonna be good when you play them.

If you had told me thru 8 games the Chiefs are 6-2 I think we'd all have been fine with that and actually pretty happy with it.

That damn Colts game. Shit.

They should be sitting pretty at 7-1 with an eye on 14/15 wins.

Week 2, the Bills were just going to waltz through the league on the way to their Super Bowl win, only facing a minor road bump in KC for the AFCCG. Now it's like, shit, the Ravens, Dolphins, Titans, Bengals- any of those teams could get hot and make a run.

Also, the Seahawks have to be the biggest surprise. I had that one penciled in as the easiest W of the year. Now I'm thinking that one could be a dogfight.

Every team has a terrible loss every year. Last year we got the brakes beat off of us against the Titans.

All things considered I think we have a strong chance to finish 13-4. We only play 3 more winning teams and they would be:

-Chargers who are broken and look like a different team now
-Bengals who might not have Chase
-Seahawks at home

The rest is garbage. Texans, Broncos twice, a broken Rams team and the Jags

Exactly! KC is a Chris Jones naughty word away from being 7-1. I had them at 5-3 before the season at this point. I'll gladly take 6-2.

It will be interesting to see how the Broncos defense does against our tackles. They might be able to force a tight game.
