Let's talk about the Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars, to be specific.

I'm gonna say Chiefs, 27-23.

We'll have trouble between the 20's but keep them out of the endzone on more often than not.

Chiefs will struggle to run the ball and Wylie will blow goats, but Mahomes.

Am I the only person who thinks this isn't going to be as close as people think?

I (unfortunately)get the Jags every week here and I think people give them too much credit for some things and too little for others.

Josh Allen isn't Von Miller....Travon Walker can look good one play and completely lost the next...their secondary is decent but Mahomes picks apart even the best secondaries... while our running game is atrocious I think we can get some yards.

Their receiving corps are average at best.......Kirk is their best receiver but he would be #4 on our depth chart in KC.....Cam Robinson can tend to get a lot of false starts in loud stadiums, I would bet that our crowd has him give us 2-3 in the game....their TE's are decent but not near as good as Kelce or ever Gray/Fortson....Trevor is as erratic as Derek Carr or Justin Herbert....and sometimes when he runs he can forget to get down in a slide....

I would watch out for Smoot on defense....he seems to be the guy who is having the better year.

On Offense.....if we let Etienne get confidence right away he will run all over us. Gay or Bolton need to meet him head on and let him get gun shy.... and watch out for Trevor running, again we need the LB's to spy on him

People seem to be scared to predict comfortable wins over weak opponents. As if our predictions have an effect on the outcome.

I think KC matches up pretty well with Jacksonville and will win comfortably if they don't make a lot of mistakes. If it's an off day, sure, it could be a battle. Like any other NFL game.

Although people predicting blowouts here has nothing to do with the outcome the reality is that teams KC should blow out they don’t. Not sure why, but it’s maddening and a reason why KC drops a head scratcher or two every year.

ETN is going to be a problem, moreso with him out of the backfield on the routes. Wouldn't be shocked if he got 150+ combined yards and a couple of scores, and I say that specifically because we shut Derrick Henry down in the second half last week. Trevor Lawrence does have ability throwing the ball, more than Willis anyway, and that will free ETN up to chew yards.

Exactly which is why I said shutting down Etienne is not the same as shutting down Henry as Lawrence is a far better QB right now than Willis.

It wouldn't be gameday if at some point part of CP doesn't melt down and call for everyone to be fired.

But Lawrence has been erratic at times with his throws all season. He can throw a laser one minute....and then a Carr-like miscue the next.

Jax really isn't as bad as their record, though. They've played everyone close, just haven't been able to put them away.

There's a lot of talent there, and they're finally getting good coaching for the first time at the NFL level.

They're not a gimme on anybody's schedule.

I expect a win, but it will be closer than we'd like-because that's how Jax plays everyone.
