Salary Cap could exceed $220 million

Was $208 million this year.

https://www.nfl.com/_amp/salary-cap-...estions-remain

If we carry over our almost $5 million in cap then next year we have over $40 million in cap space before any cuts.

So basically gonna have a lotta money dawg

Yes, just because he filled in admirably there a few times isn't the answer. He's perfect at LG and helps give us a really good if not the best up the middle OL. If our tackles weren't so atrocious I'm not sure we would have any losses.

Protecting QB1 and putting pressure on opposing QB's. That is where our focus needs to be.

We paid Sammy Watkins 14 million per year....I would be willing to give JuJu that kind of contract.

That was 5 years ago and the cap has gone up a lot since. Better make that 20.

I would not be thrilled at 20, but given some of the crazy contracts this past offseason for WR's, I could live with that.

There are defenses out there who are trying to beat our WRs up and prove we can consistently beat man even against the top DBs. Based on what we saw in Tennessee, cincy and buffalo, do we feel this WR corps is up for that task? We know our OL isn’t, but I think mahomes has covered up some of the shortcomings of these WRs. Those games were not as comfortable as we remember and it’s not just because of pass pro.
I'm not even worried about Sauce or White. They can't protect the QB well enough. Until that's fixed, nothing else is going to work well.

Playmaking WR's are currently getting paid large sums of money. You can't invest in OL, DL, AND get a true WR1. It's not going to happen. You're going to have to prioritize and if you're going to put WR need ahead of the other two, then this discussion is going nowhere...

If you get a "good" LT, couple him with a great LG (Thuney), get a decent RT, you can still go get some DL help. The draft then becomes best available.
Because you are already overpaying for a guard regardless of how good he is.

I want the best line combination possible. OBJ was a really good RT. He can play LT, but clearly isn’t good. You don’t weaken two positions is my point

I’m not willing to screw with the solid middle of our line. There are better options. Tunney at LT is an emergency plan to get by for a game or two.

I get it but I'm willing to bet Tuney can be an average LT. Go draft a LG and save that money your were going to spend on a LT to replace Frank Clark's ass.

Well then I’m prioritizing receiver.

This team needs to run behind mahomes. Not create a balance and an offense built around efficiency. Even if you build and build a tremendous defense like the bills and put all your eggs in that basket, giant killers like burrow and mahomes can beat you.

Our OL doesn’t need to be all world. Hell, we’re playing like shit at tackles and we’re still doing ok. We had a shit interior OL and made back to back super bowls. We had shit tackles and made the afc conference championship. We don’t have to pump huge money into our OTs. We have to do a better job of not making shit our #1 option. You don’t think an upgrade to average tackle play isn’t a huge upgrade in and of itself?

I just do t understand the rationale behind having an all world qb and focusing on balance instead of making us explosive in the passing game. I do agree that it’s easier said than done. But we don’t need to have Jamaar chase like talent. We just need a guy who can actually play WR1. Does anyone think we have a WR1 (i fully recognize kelce is a receiver option)? How can you have an elite qb and not give him a wr1.

However much the cap goes up percentage wise, you need to add to contracts percentage wise FA's will be looking for.
