Yup tbh parades aren't that fun it was standing seeing pretty much nothing for hours and then it's cool for like 15 mins.

I'm just going tomorrow to say I've been to a Chiefs one

Last time there were a bunch of publicized bus routes and places you could park away from downtown and use public transportation back and forth.

At the location, it's pretty much chaos. Probably close to a million people. Many will be drunk and high as hell. Last parade was just a super cool vibe throughout the entire day, and I expect nothing less this time. But if you are intending to bring kids, please know that there was a great deal of drinking and smoking going on last time, and it will be worse this year with the leagalization in MO. Plan accordingly. Temps should be much better this year though. Everybody who can, get your asses down here on Wednesday.

Went to the first one. It was cold but worth it. A lifelong bucket list of someone who frequently drove on Grand Ave wondering what a Chiefs parade would look like.

Not going this time. Unless you work or live downtown, it's a pain in the ass. I'll be watching on the monitor.

For anyone that has experience with this, how early do the surface parking lots within 3-4 blocks of the parade route fill up? Last time we parked at a friend's business at 26th and Holmes and then walked to the route. Go there real early and had a great spot right on the barrier by the Western Auto building. I'd like to get a bit further north on the route this time because we were near the end of the route and not many of the players were walking along anymore like they were earlier in the route. I'm thinking of getting to around 10th - 12th Streets.

My daughter is pushing me to take her out of school and make the drive up. Don't think we are going to make it, as much as I'd love to be there.

Good question. I’m wondering what time the space in front of Union Station starts to fill up?

I didn't drive last time. But just watching the vehicles while walking, it looked really awful. People were illegally parking anywhere and everywhere. People were pulling off I-70 and just abandoning their cars on the shoulder of the highway and walking to Union Station. I wouldn't be expecting any kind of easy in and out. Some other friends are planning on parking near Home Depot/Costco and walking from there.

If you're going with family, be sure and have a plan in case you get separated. Cell phone coverage will likely be non-existent due to the number of people. It was last time. We're talking about potentially close to a million people. Be safe.

From what I remember from last time. Think of it like getting into Arrowhead, they line up starts hours before the gates open. I remember people talking about getting there the night before. But for sure it's going to be hours before packed. the parade is only from 12 till 1:45ish.
