Nate Taylor: Chiefs expected to franchise OBJ again [not happening]

Those kinds of numbers have not been mentioned. He turned down the $23M AAV because of the guaranteed money, not the AAV.

Make a decision, one way or another. Don't let this drag on. He's going to hold out all offseason again if he's forced to play on the tag, and he likely takes half the year to get up to speed again and has a higher likelihood of getting injured like he did earlier in the year. Yes he played through the injury, but it clearly affected his play. OBJ isn't a great athlete and can't afford to not be at 100%. Not really a fan of giving him big money, but if you're going to do it just get it over with. Hopefully there is a way to get out of it after 2-3 years, because I don't see him as being someone who stays hungry once he gets paid.

Guess I hope we sign him, even if it's for too much money. No interest in downgrading this position. I'd settle for a training camp holdout and play on franchise tag.

So did his dad stay hungry? He’d have signed a long term deal at some point in his career I’d think . Isn’t that who advised him to play LT ? And assume who is guiding his career path
