He'll be 33 when the season starts. DB is a young man's position.

A lot of these posters think OBJ/DHop would be nothing more than a slower Tyreek. There doesn't seem to be much enthusiasm for great hands, huge catch radius, exceptional body control, elite level route-running, etc. But those are things the Chiefs haven't had in ages, so it's maybe something like 'ignorance is bliss.' Often it's as simple as people don't know what they're missing.
DBowe had that kind of talent. He unfortunately just played for some crappy regimes and he was not a self motivated athlete.

I liked Bowe, but no, he didn't. He wasn't really even at Sammy's level. A step below, probably.

But even if I agree that he was, that was a long time ago, especially in fanbase years.

Fair enough. I still think he had the talent but was too lazy and didn't apply himself. Dude could catch anything near him. And yes it was many sad moons ago when he was running the wrong routes and stealing TD's from Tony.

The Eagles have, as expected, seen a number of departures on defense so far in free agency. They have managed to retain a major part of their secondary, however. Cornerback James Bradberry is re-signing on a three-year, $38MM deal (Twitter link via ESPN’s Adam Schefter).

I hope JJSS signs with the Commies. That'd make for some excellent T.V.

Samaje Perine has been a pretty good back against the Chiefs -

Quote:
Seeking Javonte Williams insurance, the Broncos are looking to another team’s backup. Former Bengals running back Samaje Perine is signing a two-year Denver deal, Mike Garafolo of NFL.com tweets.

The Broncos are giving the former Joe Mixon backup a two-year, $7.5MM deal that includes an additional $1MM in incentives. Perine will join his fourth NFL team and an offense in transition. With Williams recovering from ACL surgery, an opportunity at a bigger role may exist in Denver.

If you seriously don't think this man was a generational talent i'd advise you go back and re-familiarize yourself with his body of work.
His playing half the games he's been available for? Shouldn't take long to look at for sure.

He was talented. He had pretty good hands, good athleticism, good to great proprioception (body control/awareness), and I think decent but not exceptional speed. Pretty sure that if he were in his prime, I'd take him over JuJu 100 times out of 100.

But OBJ and DHop are a couple levels beyond what Bowe was in his best years. i think anyway. It's hard to say for sure, because he just happened to play on a very average Chiefs team, and I think a lot of his potential was just wasted on those teams.

Bowe was probably the closest comparison among Chiefs WRs in the last 20 years though.

He had three great seasons to start his career and has been pretty average the 6 seasons since then. You are enamored by the things he did in 2014-2016. He isn't that dude anymore.

I won't be upset if Burnt Bleach signs him because I trust his decision making, but Odell has never been a generational talent. He hasn't been the best receiver in the league in any year he has played. He WAS very good for a very short period of time.

You have to go all the way back to Taylor to find a Chiefs receiver like that with the catch radius. Bowe is as close as you get in the meantime. I wanna see it.
