Remember this time last year when CP panicked bc we traded Tyreek and our corners consisted of Sneed, Fenton, Baker and Bootle?

Remember this time 2 years ago when we cut Fisher and Schwartz and our OL consisted of Thuney, Rankin, Blythe, Wylie and Remmers?

Trust in Veach. He’s earned it

They definitely need to nail the draft. No reason to not think they will.

It's not a lack of trust, it's asking what you feel his plan is. He has not made a move that changes the landscape in FA yet as he did in either of these situations. There are not many DTs remaining in FA that move the needle.

Is he going to add a vet? If he does, where do you think he drafts DTs? If he doesn't make a play in FA, should we expect much higher draft capital used there? Who do you think the targets are?

Everyone keeps screaming about WRs. This group is much, much more of a problem than WR.

If he were gonna get that, he'd have already gotten it. We're long past time guys getting that kinda coin in FA.

There's a couple space eating run stoppers still out there, but in terms of real juice all around guys, it's not much out there.

The DT position wasn't even ideal last season.

Well, we currently have 2 RB's on the roster and one is being talked about being traded.

And Hunt would probably come pretty cheap at this point, would compliment Pacheco really well.

I guess the question is - what have we lost from last season?

Saunders and Williams? Is there anyone else I'm missing? Because Saunders didn't really get much run until Wharton went down and Wharton should be back next year. So aren't you really just looking for someone like Williams to get back to sea level?

Granted, I think we'd all like to see upgrades made there, but I don't think that's all that difficult. I still think someone like Al Woods would present a pretty substantial upgrade over what we got from the position last season. Moreover, I think there will be options in the 3rd/4th rounds that can provide significant contributions even on a rotational level.

It's where I would've been at WR had we not also lost Hardman. I just don't think it would've been difficult to replace JuJu and yes, Hardman was injured, but I think losing BOTH those guys puts us further away from the 2022 baseline than we are at DT. Losing Wylie, who was a punching bag but who WAS reliable at least and could thus be planned around, presents a similar issue in that we simply don't have any sort of viable starting point at RT right now. I'm sorry, but I'm not counting on Niang there - it's just asking for trouble.

And that's also why, while I desperately want to see us come up with more long-term dynamic options at DE, we've replaced Clark w/ Omenihu and can replace Dunlap with a number of late additions (hell, isn't Ingram still available?) and be right where we ended 2022.

Right now WR and RT are the two spots on the roster where I see a clear gap between what we had when we won a championship and what we have at the present time. So much so that they're both sitting at legitimate 'need' status as we enter the draft to me.

DE and DT? Those are items of significant 'want' in my mind, but not quite 'need'.

Definitely could. McKinnon is 30 though and seemed to wear down a bit last year I thought.

Either way, I'm good.

RBs are easily replaceable. Plus Hunt to KC died when they cut him a few years ago.
