At some point, you get diminishing returns on your multi-multi-multi millions. Patrick understands this. It's clear he values winning championships over everything else and is willing to take a little discount to be competitive. Will it be renegotiated at some point? Probably. Did it work? Yes! Would he still have two rings if he had insisted on top dollar for himself?
