Times Ours guys move to KCSN

This is pretty cool. Hopefully they do some cross-pods with the other KCSN guys.

Feel free to go listen to Bob Fescoe or read Adam Teicher or the Star's garbage. These guys are good bc they are actually Chiefs fan. All of them at KCSN.

Times Ours is light - no question. Empty calories for the most part. But sometimes I'm cool with a bag of popcorn instead of a ribeye.

KCSN is the best, though. And Times Ours is going to be a nice change of pace. And really this kinda always felt like a foregone conclusion once The Athletic pulled the plug.
Yeah, I don't mind it. Not every show has to be hardcore X's and O's.

My personal ranking of Chiefs podcasts:
  1. KCSN KC Laboratory (best Xs and Os discussion)
  2. Only Weird Games (formerly Times Ours - I just like hanging out with them, and Nate has a lot of good inside info)
  3. AP Editors/AP Out of Structure (I consider these basically the same show, but they both have good info and I liked the hosts)
  4. Locked on Chiefs (during the season only, I can't do the offseason, Matt Derrick has great inside info on Tuesdays and the crossover shows with the upcoming opponent's host are good)
  5. AP Show and BK (Show consistently cracks me up)
  6. KSCN OTT (BJ Kissel, Nick Leckey, Tucker Franklin)
  7. KCSN One on One (Jeff Allen and Mike DeVito)

Never really liked the rest of the KCSN content, but the Time's Ours guys are the best there is.

I liked the AP one a lot when Verderame was on it. It's a bit less good now but I still probably put it above Time's Ours.

I can't listed to Locked On at all. That drove me nuts.

For broad NFL stuff, nothing is better than Robert Mays and Nate Tice on The Athletic podcast (and now Chase Daniels has a segment). The Ringer stuff with Steven Ruiz and Ben Solak is always excellent as well. Around the NFL is lighter and fun.

But the best all around is Chris Simms. So enjoyable.

The ones I listen to are Simms, Athletic, KCSN Lab, Times Ours and Red, Gold and Bold.

And as noted, Nate sometimes provides really good insights.

Today, for instance, he made a REALLY good contrast between the Jones camp and the Hill camp.

Hill, with Drew Rosenhaus - an experienced and excellent GM - had all these pieces in motion pre-draft. He knew his client wanted to be the #1 WR so he went to the Chiefs and confirmed they wouldn't do that. Once that happened he got to work finding a team that WOULD do that and then creating a bidding war on the open market sufficiently strong enough to ensure that a team would be willing to make an offer that would convince the Chiefs to pull the trigger.

That was Rosenhaus behind the scenes moving pieces around and using connections to make sure his client got what he wanted and giving the Chiefs ample motivation to accommodate him.

Compare that to these ****ing clown Katz brothers and it's just a night and day difference. Rosenhaus recognized that "**** you, pay me" wasn't going to do his client any good. He recognized that working in his clients best interests required that he also work on accommodating the Chiefs best interests.

And with that, his client became the #1 paid wide receiver in football. Whereas Katz is out there simply giving the Chiefs the bird after seemingly hiding the ball for several months.

Good agents work wonders. And Nate often has a little of the insight on the inside with the Chiefs that helps him bring that insight.

Not for nothing but those Katz nitwits actually got their start at Rosenhaus and that's how they met Chris Jones in the first place.

KCSN is weird to me.

There isn't much of a gap to fill in terms of sports content and information that doesn't already exist between national networks, local TV and radio stations and the million plus podcasts out there.

And it's not like they can ever expand their brand outside of the metro with a name like Kansas City Sports Network.

Seems like a bit of a bros club who were unhappy in their previous roles and decided to start a circle jerk.

Their coverage though is better...like The Laboratory is probably the best Chiefs show out there.

I'd bet there's an age gap here. I never watch any national networks, local news, or any of that, but I listen to KCSN podcasts all the time.
