Time to start benching WR's

Starting with MVS. Make him a healthy scratch.

It's time to start sending a real message. Put Richie James in there.

These wr's better hold onto the ball next week while I'm in Vegas. If they don't, I may get Ruggs out of jail hand him a couple of bottles of whisky, a rented corvette and pictures of our wr core.

You can't play WRs who can't catch. The options are limited so if it helps go ahead and launch someone.

Two jugs machines in the WR/TE/RB meeting rooms. One for catching the football. The other is set up for baseballs that get aimed at the dick. Nut cup required but it’s still going to pack a punch. Drop the football take a two seam fastball right on the purple headed yogurt slinger and go to the back of the line

Andy Reid said that Skyy Moore does a heckuva job just two weeks ago. He has no message to send.

He may be the greatest, or one of the greatest coaches in NFL history, but he can stick with coaches and players way past their expiration date.

He kept Sutton too long, didn't bench Smith against the Titans, insisted on giving CEH carries over Pacheco, praises Skyy Moore who is clearly not an NFL receiver, etc. etc.

I am not a fan of paying Jones $30 million a year, but it's not that much more per year than we wanted to pay, compared to how ridiculously bad the receivers are. Yeah, we pay Jones an extra $3-$5 million a year, but we have a receiver who belongs on an NFL roster.

The week is pivotal for Veach, if that includes signing a PS player from another team then do it because they couldn't be any worse than the current corps.

What do we think Veach should've done differently? Genuine question, I'm happy to criticise Veach, I'm just trying to work out the options.

- Move up for a higher prospect in the draft? - Meh, probably not
- Double dip in the draft? - I'd probably have done this with the Thompson pick but I doubt it makes a difference
- Trade?
- Ditch MVS or another move, don't go for Tranquill, free up cap space and go for a WR in FA? In which case how and who? What does the Jones deal allow us to do?

Veach absolutely read the WR room wrong, it's been a mess and it was hubris to think Mahomes fixes everything. I said it before last year and then thought I was proven wrong. Nope. Apparently even a Juju type is needed.

The issue ive had is people saying we've pumped a ton of assets into our wr room. But we really haven't. Teams have aggressively drafted WR and spent a gazillion $ on them so when we get ours in, we are even further down the talent chain.

I've been as big a critic as anyone about this one position group but I don't think the ask is too unreasonable. I wasn't barking about davante. I was barking about bandaids like thielen and dhop as we organize the chaos. our defense has been elite so it isn't to knock on getting aggressive with defense but is that little extra to move our defense from great to elite worth it? There may not have been WRs sitting in our draft spots but weve also ignored positions like OL and it forcef us to pump huge money into it. We've spent a shitload of capital on guys like thuney, obj, Taylor and good chance we pump way more into creed and/or trey. But instead of finding these guys we are looking for backup DL and DB.

And that's not even getting into the moneyballness of it all. We can borrow money. Weve just chosen not to because we dont want to deal with long term consequences. We could have turned all of mahomes base this year into bonus. We waited until a few games in to restructure thuney which means that option was there from the beginning. We can afford to make these kinds of "credit card" moves. Hell Patrick's whole contract was structured to use that. My preference wojldve been to do this while we have a great versiok of Kelce and while Reid is still top of his game. We didn't and that's ok, but it was a deliberate choice.

So we had options. We just chose not to use them
