It was in the second half, Chiefs were facing 3rd down, Mahomes couldnt escape the pocket on a pass play. He probably didnt want to, but he just went down and took the sack. In the past, we've seen him try to get the ball off and force a throw downfield, with normally poor results. Maybe it was nothing, but I sure noticed it, and thought maybe he was protecting the ball better?
