Just a reminder as to how bad Carolina has botched the QB position - lets set aside the inexcusably stupid selection of Bryce Young for a moment.

Last season the Panthers drafted Matt Corral in the 3rd round. They cut him this offseason, he ghosted the Patriots after they signed him to the practice squad and then fall off the map altogether. He'll almost certainly never play an NFL snap.

The franchise simply has no idea what to do at the position.

The night before Young's pro day, Fitterer said a group of "seven or eight" Panthers personnel surrounded him at the center of a table. They discussed Young's life on and off the field — he ordered the scallops and a salad — and they left impressed with his poise.

I think this is more about Tepper. He's extremely impatient and meddlesome. Remember that 7 year contract he gave Matt Rhule? He has no idea what he's doing. I happen think Reich isn't a great head coach, but I don't think he did anything wrong in this case.

Tepper was too much of an asshole for Goldman Sachs.

Also, he’s clearly compensating.

Young was literally the smallest 1st round QB in the modern era, and Tepper liked his dinner order.

I think he's probably getting piles of money from the Panthers and maybe a little bit from the Colts. Generally if a coach gets fired and hired elsewhere, the money in the new contract offsets what is still owed from the previous contract. So the Panthers are on the hook for all, or most, of what Reich is owed.

I would stay away from Alabama QBs all together, they never pan out well in the NFL as more than a backup. Outside of Hurts, the only other one worth a damn is Tua and he's given a plethora of offensive firepower to work with and already has concussion problems in his young career. Maybe they're turning it around, but Nick Saban knows how to build teams much more so than quarterbacks.

While I kind of buy the rumor that Tepper wanted Young, it's still just speculation.

If it's true, I'm sure we'll find out now that Reich has been fired. No way he keeps his mouth shut if Young was forced onto him.

This one definitely falls under the category of "doesn't matter cause you can't fire the owner".

Wasn't it 'rumored' that Reich wanted Stafford or Fields after Wentz shit the bed in spectacular fashion back in Indy? Either Reich is a gutless pussy that owners have no respect for or he's just a shyster constantly bemoaning circumstances he created himself.
