Huge Props to the Defense

It sure was a joy watching them battle in the frigid cold last night. Completely shutting down anything MIA threw their way outside of Hill's TD. McDuff got some revenge though. Held their asses to 7pts, scoreless and didn't do a damn thing in the 2nd half. 264 total yards allowed and a 1/4 of that was Hill's TD. Only 74 rushing yds allowed with their 2 headed backfield monster. I knew Tua probably wouldn't do shit in this weather but a very impressive performance from the KC defense.

It's been fun watching them during the regular season. Wish the offense would've done their part to help secure HFA in the playoffs but it is what it is. Hopefully Rice catches fire now and offense is off-a-runnin'.

They smacked MIA in the mouth, and you could tell from the very first drive MIA didn't even wanna be there. (Don't blame them, it was cold in the stands too). The Linebackers were outstanding last night. Furious George played an outstanding game. Jones played well and was held all night but was effective. CB's locked their asses down. Chiefs quietly have the best CB duo in the NFL.

Gonna be sad that this is likely the best group we're gonna see for a while. Some of these cats won't be Chiefs next yr. It'd be really nice to keep Sneed.

If the Chiefs play well on both sides of the ball like last night (could improve in RZ), there isn't a team they can't beat soundly. Bring on @BUF. Dont care who the Chiefs play.

My favorite game this season - so far. Let's see 'em top that a few more times and watch QB1 slam lite beer in yet another parade. Everybody ought to have a hobby.

Do we have a top 5-10 duo at all 3 levels?

Jones/Karlaftis
Bolton/Gay or Tranquil
Sneed/McDuffie

last night when the Chiefs defensive players announced themselves at the beginning of MIAs first possession, There wasn't one player where I cringed. No toaster-fire DBs, No slow LBs. No tackling dummy DL dudes. We have solid or elite at every spot. Amazing.

Another thing: the MIA defense was severely depleted, which MAY have contributed to our marching down the field at will (yes, plus PM2 and Pacheco were nails). But we got (AFAIK) the full MIA starting offense, one that put up hella points many times this year, and we held them to scraps.

You know those games where we get punched in the mouth and lose and we say "they just wanted it more" well, we were the ones who wanted it more last night. That was evident af on both sides of the ball.

Amazing.

They put Hella points against teams with a losing record.

The D did look great and I hope the energy and focus carries over.

But Miami has been over rated all year long.

Yeah if you go back and look at how they built their offensive stats it was built on blowing out a bunch of bad teams. They do have a ton of talent there, but their preparation, discipline and play calling seem to suffer against good teams, and Tua just isn't good enough to beat those teams.

Keep in mind that half this defense is only in year 2. They haven't even reached their full potential yet. Some dudes may not improve much from here but some will. Guys like McDuffie have just scratched their potential to this point.

This D will be an unbelievable force next year if Sneed returns...

Yeah, it's probably the best defense we'll have here for a while. Just really good players at every level.

We need to give credit to the guys who don't get it. Joshua Williams comes to mind. Guy plays a lot of snaps and we never hear his name. That's a damn good thing at CB.
