It's easy to skew numbers in this league given how many teams are pretty terrible and given how bad the worst of the worst can be.
Which is a great reason why things like DVOA are INTERESTING and DIRECTIVE but not EVIDENTIAL.

The sample size is just so small, that a simple thing like blowing out a collapsing Miami Dolphins team with a vulnerable QB down key pieces of his supporting cast can drastically skew things.

I assume defensive touchdowns still count against the def and offensive turnovers inside our own redzone that still end up in field goals even after a stop can skew how good this d was .

Turnovers are a very noisy stat. A lot of luck involved in fumble recoveries, tipped passes, right place right time INTs. I don’t take the turnover differential between the Ravens defense and the Chiefs defense to mean very much at all.

Our think our offensive can out-pass-protect this defensive line if we’re looking at talent on talent. The question will be how we communicate and deal with the simulated pressures. I don’t see our guys losing many one on one pass protection battles with their defensive line. I think Mahomes will have time to throw more often than not.

I've LOOKED AT THE QBs....pure ****ing garbage schedule you played at avoiding ELITE QBs...and yes the QB you face has a HUGE swing on your precious DVOA. You aren't facing Purty this week on a loaded team. You have a loaded team with the GOAT QB

Yes! He's one of those 1920s-1950s cartoon images of clean cut white man. Or modern day Mormon.

Gardener Minshew DeShawn Watson Pad Statford and Kenny Pickett STILL did the job. (Counting the Rams gane as a loss because it was a huge fluke you won btw)

Good point, but it doesn't mean the stat should be ignored. It just needs to be taken with a lot of salt. It could be meaningful, but there are reasons to discount it. It's not nearly as good as a lot of other statistics for predictive purposes.

Also regular season doesn't really count for the Chiefs because they're PROVEN in the playoffs

keep coming up with excuses, because you are going to need more of them tomorrow.

The Ravens set a record for beating 10 win teams this season.

It's probably a stat that didn't exist before this year because nobody has ever bragged about it so much before, especially in a 17 game season where many of those teams are probably masquerading as 9-7 teams.

To put it another way... none of those teams were bragging about their 10 win season and you wouldn't be bragging if the Ravens had a 10 win season.... yet this is clearly super important to you.

It's just not impressive at all, but keep telling yourself it is I guess.

This is what I'm talking about: the Raven's great achievement is beating a bunch of unaccomplished teams in the regular season.

Looks good but what does it mean?

It means you're next...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

My brother in Christ, nobody cares. FFS, you should absolutely win this game by 10+. You got the MVP, the greatest D the NFL has ever seen and a game at home. There’s absolutely no way you should lose this game. That would be an absolute complete failure for the Ravens, right? It’s in the bag…

Hey, but the Browns, Texans, and Steelers won 10 games and looked at what they did in the playoffs... how could you not be impressed by beating teams like that in the regular season.

It’s jaw dropping, regular season greatness - like nothing I’ve ever seen before!
