Well, to be fair, outside of one ring up, the zone has not been the same for both teams tonight.

And when we need to be protecting the plate, we watch strike 3.

I believe part of that is just unconscious bias; the umpires know the Yankees are selective so the zone is tighter, the Royals are not so the zone is relaxed. It's just human nature.

I don’t buy that it’s unconscious in any way. Should be the opposite of that unless it’s being intentionally steered.
