How the **** did the Athletic come up with the narrative that were we lucky to win yesterday? We were never behind and were tying the game for a total of 3 minutes and 11 seconds. The only reason they had a sliver of hope was because of bullshit decisions by the referees, even with our defense playing like shit. Whoever wrote that piece of shit article should be hung, drawn, quartered and then set on fire.

That's why I think the whole cardiac Chiefs memes are crazy overplayed (and saw them again last night)... the game was definitely a grind and I wouldn't have been sad had I missed it, but the Panthers never even had a possession where they could take the lead (outside of scoring a touchdown + 2pt conversion early in the game, I guess).

It was frustrating to watch, but not stressful at all (oh no, Mahomes has to get into FG range with 1:45 on the clock? ) or lucky. Good teams can play like shit and beat the dumpster fires of the league... that's always been a thing.

The Bills played almost an identical game to this against a 2-6 Miami about 3 weeks ago. They let the Dolphins score to tie it with an almost exact amount of time left and the Bills kicked a FG to win (although that was 61 yards and not 30, so it was a bit more up in the air).

Nothing about yesterday's game was unusual for the NFL.

I agree the game wasn't stressful. The only part of the game that elicited a bit of "ahhh ****, we need this!" emotion from me was when we had a third down on our final drive. Obviously whooped and celebrated the scores but instead of anger or concern for our defensive **** ups I just quietly sat there with my palm stuck to my face.

Yeah, the defense did exactly what I thought it would do when they forced the 3 and out in the 4th quarter... and then of course the opposite of what I thought after.

And then it was "****, we're really doing this?" And even after all that if the Chiefs don't end the game, there's an OT coin flip, the possibility of ending the game by getting the ball and scoring a TD, the Panthers possibly needing to score.....

Goes to show just how much FA you can do before you really FO.... and we've seen over and over how they figure out how to win games.

Pats went 18-0 and then lost in the SB to a 10-6 team. Don't get too cocky.

No body is whining, it's called being concerned.

To this day, Patriots players argued that they lost because they opened up their playbook to beat the Giants to preserve their undefeated record to end the season.

Multiple players argued it gave the Spags and the Giants (and the Chargers, but they couldn’t capitalize) the roadmap to slow down their offense. I’ve always been curious about the tell they showed on tape.

Now we know the impetus for the Chiefs playing vanilla.

Spags told Reid all about that year.
