Let's Talk About the Steelers (Christmas Day Game)

Biggest game of the year. If we win, we get the 1 seed and can rest guys as needed against the Donks.

I read somewhere on here there was a notable impact after playing an NFCN team.

Any chance they are dinged up after playing the Ravens?

They are definitely dinged up. Joey Porter Jr and a wide receiver are likely out for Wednesday due to injuries sustained in that game.

Pretty sure they've never done a live broadcast that wasn't rife with technical difficulties.

Steel men are bumming

The Steelers track record in short week games isn’t good. IMHO that’s for two reasons. First, they are a high effort team that plays physically and short weeks don’t allow enough time to recharge before the next game. They are beat up. Second, Pittsburgh wins a lot of games due to coaching and figuring out how to win close ones. On short weeks, they don’t have as much time to do that. Hence, it’s more of a pick-up type game favoring raw talent than a coaching matchup.

I cannot see them beating the Chiefs even with home field advantage which helps on short weeks. The only way they likely can win is by winning a shootout and Russ passing for 3-4 TDs. Unlikely. The other “chance” would be if it’s an awful defensive stinker of a game and they win 12-10 or something. The D looks porous so I doubt that.

I will be happy to be wrong, but the Cincy game is the real contest.

No disagreement that the Brocos will probably be desperate, but I'm pretty sure at this point that primetime game will be Lions/Vikings for the 1 seed in the NFC (unless the Vikings lose on Sunday). That game is the real draw of the weekend. And it could also be Seahawks/Rams if the Rams slip up against the Cardinals and that game is also for the division.

All of the games next week are possible flex games for 1/4 or 1/5. I think in that situation they’d probably flex us to the Saturday prime time window

Was wondering this too. If he does play, I hope Andy continues to give help like he did with Thuney.

Nate Taylor just reported he's not practicing today, the only session of the week.

Looks like Thuney again at LT

At this point do you not just roll with Thuney at LT for the duration? Unless Big Hump can play in the Denver game and look mighty impressive.

I was hopeful that the Patriots would hold on to beat the Bills. Not just for two weeks of rest for the Chiefs starters, but also Netflix would eat $75 million for a meaningless game with the Chiefs starters on the sideline.

My feeling is keep Thuney at LT through the playoffs. The experiment has proven a success against great pass rushing teams. I do hope that Humphries can come in and play a full game against the Broncos, though. At least let us see what he's got and get him closer to in game shape.

If this is true, its too late for Humphries. I was hopeful he'd be playing to prove he's ready to go. But there's no way you start him in the playoffs on hopes and dreams.
