Explosive offense isn't just the deep ball, although they need to be better at it. It can also be medium length plays that guys can bust open.

Don't kid yourself the second this offense gets back to being explosive teams are going to sell the house to take it away. There was a time there where teams would have let us run for 250 over giving up a deep ball.

Middlekauf was a scout for Andy in Philly. Still talks to Veach like Louis Riddick does.

He thinks they’re gonna be busy

Honestly, though -- just how big a swing is there to take?

What "wow, they did WHAT?!" sort of move would be out there. I guess a big trade for Garrett but that doesn't seem their style. Would even a trade for Tyreek Hill really shock anyone?

There's nobody that they can realistically cut that would surprise you. If they don't pay Bolton or Smith, that wouldn't shock anyone either.

I mean...I just don't see what they can do that would really set my hair on fire. Thuney, Smith and Creed are all guys with contracts that all but assure they're Chiefs next season, Jones and Mahomes are Jones and Mahomes. They're giving Kelce time to 'decide what he wants to do' which means they'd bring him back if they he wanted to come back.

I just don't see a slate of available shocking possibilities.

Hard to envision that happening, Jerry always thinks they're almost ready to contend... ditching their best defender when he believes that seems out of character for him

The market for him is going to be HORRIFYING.

I mean it's a lousy WR market -- he is easily the top guy out there with Cooper and maybe Brown being the next 2. That's how rough the WR market is.

Now you have teams like the Chargers, Cardinals, Raiders and Patriots sitting on GOBS of cap space and all with dire needs at the WR position. Those 4 teams alone have $350 million in available cap space before they make a single cut or restructure next season.

If Higgins somehow hits the open market (I don't think he will -- the Bengals should obviously tag him) he might re-set the market just because of timing. As ridiculous as him beating out Jefferson's 4/$140 million would sound -- what else are the Patriots gonna spend it on? If they can get Higgins to say yes, they'll give him that deal.

The chiefs attempted to be the most explosive they have been all year in the Super Bowl with their route concepts. It backfired because they didn’t account for the eagles speed. The more annoying thing is they didn’t abandon this plan at all. Only mixing in a few different looks after the game was 24-0, but still going back to the original plan even then.

That’s just incompetency on the OC part. Nagy has to go. There has to be a better plan and a more decisive pivot situationally.

I didn't see anything wrong with the offense. If you're beating a Fangio underneath zone defense concept, which is what it looks like you're advocating for, than you have to have the timing down to get the ball thrown into windows. Hard to do that when there's no left tackle and a traffic cone at left guard. And I wasn't that impressed with the eagles speed. They were letting sub 4.3 receivers get open deep down the field without safety help. They were gambling. Mahomes just wasn't willing to pull the trigger. And I blame part of that on the lack of protection and the lack of timing the offense had. No game plan can cover for a void at left tackle and terrible guard play. You can't run the ball effectively and you can't throw on time.

The speed of their edge rushers. And if you didn’t see a problem with an offense that put up 40 yards, 3 first downs, and 0 points in the first 43 minutes of play, I don’t know what to tell you.

That isn’t just a personnel issue. That’s slamming your head into a brick wall repeatedly and expecting the wall to break before you skull does.

Players were getting to their spots and there were chances. Hopkins was wide open down the middle of the field for something like a sixteen yard gain when Mahomes made the ill-advised pick six throw. Because he's having to rollout to his right he couldn't get the ball out on time and wound up misjudging the nickle corner. That kind of shit was happening all night. Eagles defensive line was too good to be playing around with these woeful band aids.
