It seems like the LT position is almost impossible to fill without a top-ten pick, and even then it's dicey. Pass rushers these days are insanely athletic.

Eric Fisher was a #1 pick, and he was imperfect. Orlando Brown, Jr., was a brontosaurus and he was imperfect. We've spent second-day picks on Kingsley and Wanya who have had a hard time (so far) adjusting.

I'm starting to conclude that top-notch left tackles do not grow on trees.

Multiple teams have found decent left tackles the past few years without using top 10 picks. I’m not saying it’s easy, but it’s far from impossible.

Now that you mention it, you're right. I remember Bakhtiari from a while back, and I think the Bears have a guy. Who else? And what's the pattern in successful non-top-ten picks?

Oh, and that giant Samoan for Philadelphia, but we're already running a giant Samoan experiment with Kingsley.

Dion Dawkins was a 2nd rounder at #63 overall and he has been very solid for Buffalo the last 7-8 years. Pretty much never missed a game, an underrated trait.

He's the outlier, if you look at the rest of the OTs taken around then the hit rate is pretty bad.

Their GM had a really strong draft in 2017 and then was fired by McDermott.

And the overwhelming majority were still well out of the Chiefs range, but sure buddy!

And other than Bakhtiari, none of those guys were serviceable in year one.

It took Philly three full seasons to start Mailata week one.

We can find somebody outside the top 10, yes, but that means not writing a player off as a failure if they get redshirted or have immediate struggles
