I'm much less of a fan than many here, I think, but for this cost it's more than worth it. Best option left, realistically, and as Chris and others said, hopefully he's HIGHLY motivated now too. Even with the DL talent in this draft, we had to fill a hole.

There's always questions after FA, safety, LG and maybe LT even etc. But I think this a really, really solid FA period for us.

Just can't even stress what a great deal this is for this team. Up to $7 million is pennies for a 10+ sack capable edge who can also play inside. That is just crazy good value.

Every contract Veach has handed out has been extremely good value and low risk. You just can't say enough about how well these guys are managing the cap and still finding a way to add all this talent without destroying our future. Truly something special.

Vereach's job is probably made a lot easier by

1) Team is very successful and appears to be able to continue that success.

2) Team has what many consider to be the best QB of the age, maybe all-time.

3) Team has head coach known to be a "player's coach" and widely renowned as one of the best.
