One of my best friends married a woman from El Paso and moved there for several years. (He was raised in Missouri.) They eventually moved back to Missouri for their own reasons, but I remember him telling me that every morning in the newspaper there was a map of where cars had been stolen the previous night. Wow, yeah that would be a deterent for sure. I was only there a couple times and both times it was great. Had no problems crossing the border in either direction. The weather was awesome, just everything. That golf course is way under rated.

Played at several courses around San Diego, they were great as well.

But yeah, you are right there at the border and that could be a real issue.

**edit** Your stolen car newspaper comment reminds me of when we were stationed in Rhode Island. They had no titles to cars and the stolen car reports were a regular on the radio.
