Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

We will see where Mahomes finishes in terms of legacy. Right now though Brady is the obvious GOAT. Meh. Gives Mahomes more motivation to maintain his play.

I didn’t realize royals was so big have you seen the videos of him at practice? He looks thicker than juju from the grainy videos I saw

Looks like a deebo built guy as far as I can see. I thought he was more of a speedster

When he was talking to the media shortly after the draft he would say how he tries to be like Davante Adams and other big receivers.

He looks like he gained weight. I’m not sure maybe we want him as a pure RAC guy since we already have brown / worthy as frail speed guys.

So he can do more of a rashee role here.

I’m just glad he looks good. His skin and eyes are healthy. No homo. Maybe.

Mahomes is about to turn 30. Which means we need to start getting serious about protecting him. He wants to play until 40 least. And then possibly into his 40s. As he ages the harder it will become to absorb blows to the body and maintain his level of play.

The Josh Simmons pick was a step in the right direction. I'd support using the 1st rounder in 2026 on a Right Tackle to protect Mahomes. Double up on the Tackles in back to back years. Give Mahomes a strong foundation at Tackle for the next 10 years.

Mahomes is by far the most valuable asset in the organization. It's time to fully commit to his protection. And that means 1st round investments.

"The next 10 years" thing isn't a thing, not in today's NFL. He's here for 4 years - maybe 5 if he plays well. And if he plays well enough, he may want a contract the Chiefs can't afford.

The NFL is about 3-5 year windows.

You’re right, but you’re also crazy if you think Clark Hunt won’t bankrupt the team if he has to to keep Mahomes.

He stepped in and made the Eric Berry deal happen while in hindsight he probably shouldn’t have. There’s no way he’s ever letting the biggest star in the history of his franchise out the door without a serious fight, even if Pat is starting to show signs of decline.

I think he was talking about Simmons......that being said, I think Veach would easily make Simmons the highest paid LT in the NFL if he is playing at that level by the time he is due for his 2nd contract.
