It was more likely planned. All the * DONX had to give up for cheating was a fine and a couple of # 3 picks. With "fines" like that, I'm surprised more teams dont try it.

Also, they never came clean like Pittsburgh did as it took 20 months of Al Davis calling them out and an investigation to find the latest cap violation.

* Violated the salary cap during thier championship years.
