I understand your point, but it is the only viable alternative, IMO.

Personally, I do not care if they feel vindicated or not. I do not care if they line up to carry bombs. All I care about is that when they get together to plan a terrorist action against the US, they know that they will all die, that their families will suffer the destruction of their homeland.

I am willing to kill one by one the idiots who still want to go to war against the US.

Understand that this is not frustrated, wild-eyed talk in the wake of a terrible incident. This has been my position against terrorism for a long time.

Right now, the terrorists strike and then hide. My plan is to dig them out wherever they hide and kill them all. No mercy. No quarter. There will be no place to hide, no sanctuary. Anyone supplying material or money to these groups will be treated as one of these groups and must suffer the same terrible consequences.

But once again, I do not believe that the American people have the will to sustain such a campaign. I think we want a quick fix that does not exist.

I agree completely with you... except I would add one thing. The problem is that as long as some madmen are willing to give their lives for their cause... the idea of retribution will not be COMPLETELY effective. It definitely will deter most though. To take care of the rest... I would consider all PUBLIC THREATS on the United States (such as Bin Laden's 3 weeks ago) as acts of war... and take action accordingly.

Unfortunately, you are right, there is no quick fix.

Any action we take though, we have to be certain that the terrorists' power structure is taken out in the process. We can't just do a bunch of stuff and miss that, because otherwise they're just going to retaliate. You have to take away their ability to do such things. And if we find that some country's government is the power structure behind what gave whatever organization the ability to do this, then obviously that needs to be taken care of, if you know what I mean...

Like AustinChief said, the fear of death to the terrorist is of mild effectiveness. You have to threaten and put the fear into countries that have knowledge of the formation of these types of groups and don't proactively seek them out before they become organized enough to pull off such attacks...

One of the first casualties of this "war" would be our "we do not assassinate" policy. Tell the whole world that we are going to kill [for example] Bin Laden.

And then kill him and anyone who gets in the way. When his assistant stands up and says he is taking over, tell the world that we are going to kill him and anyone who gets in the way.

If that means killing clerics and national leaders and housewives and children, so be it.

We have had this discussion before. I value all life, but I value American lives more. I will kill as many people as necessary to ensure the safety of US citizens. If killing hundreds or thousands of people is what it takes to get the "thou shalt not mess with the US" message through, I am willing to do so. I realize that will make a monster in some people's eyes, but that also is a price I am willing to pay.

bob dole is a wise man, i agreed with bob dole... lets have a recount and elect bob dole.....

the only way to slow this kind of thing is to put the terrorist on the defensive.

right now they can just sit back and plan and raise money.

we need to turn loose some terriorist hit squads...let them hunt down these guys and kill 'em.

don't give them enough time to plan all these big attacks...don't give them enough time to collect all this money and these bombs.

any country that doesn't give full access to our "hit squads" should be consider "antagonistic" and should face full political and economical sanctions and THEN SHOULD BE FORCED TO GIVE WAY.

the terrorist should be made to feel like hunted rats... not jihadic heroes.
