I am curious how you guys deal when your company hires a new guy that does the same job as you. Do you go out of your way to show the new guy everything or do you let him figure it out on his own?

It depends 100% on the attitude and enthusiasm of the new hire for me. There are guys I sit and watch screw themselves over and there are guys I invite for a beer and talk over a better way they could have done something from my perspective. It totally varies.

I have this philosophy.....

I will train any of my Team Members well enough that they could take my job, but continually re-invent myself so that I am a continuous valued asset to the company.
