Yep - we're on a roll:
3 out of the last 3
5 out of the last 7
10 out of the last 32

It'll be interesting what we do next week when Shane Costa returns. Reggie is due back on Friday. Both Kerry Robinson and Aaron Guiel have been in the lineup for this stretch run and deserve to be in KC more than Costa. I'd rather have Guiel over K-Rob, but as much as I'm not a K-Rob fan, he's done pretty well up here.

Hell, Sanders in left, Robinson in Center (DeJesus whenever he returns), and Guiel in right sure sounds a lot better to me than any tandem that Emil Brown is part of.

A scorching two games above last year's record after 32 games...

'05 Royals: 8-24

'06 Royals: 10-22

BTW, "scorching" was the adjective an old girl friend of mine used to describe...ahhh, never mind...Go Royals!?!

Reggie will get back and play some good ball, and i think that they need to keep kerry robinson in center because he is a freaking speedy mother ****er

He showed plenty of speed running to the wall and leaping for the ball that fell on the warning track

Ridiculous.

Costa is not only about 10 years younger than either of those two scrubs, but his batting average in his 20 or so games is higher than any regular player on the roster. Costa has upside. Guiel is someone who is in the twilight of his career and just about any other organization in the league never would have floated to the major leagues.

Kerry Robinson? I heard on the radio last night that Grudz was teaching him to bunch in batting practice.

TEACHING HIM TO BUNT.

He is a light-hitting, speed outfielder. He's probably played 10 years of professional baseball - and he can't even bunt? Not to mention judge a fly ball or remember to wear sunglasses?

Sending a hot, young player down and keeping a .250 hitting old guy would be the dumbest thing since New Coke.

I'd put Costa in center and have Guiel/Stairs play against righties and Brown/Huber against lefties. Although I think Huber might be the one to get sent down when Costa returns.

I agree, Huber seems to be the odd man out here, but you can't send Costa down.

He seems like he could be the 4th outfielder on the targeted team of the future in a few years.

What's idiotic is thinking that a team is significantly hurt by not having one in the lineup instead of another.

If anything I would rather have Brown any day of the week, because he almost hit .290 last year, a number that Aaron Guiel will never even reach in his wettest dreams.
Well, we will never know what Guiel would have hit so that is pure specualtion. And I never suggested that a significant difference would be made with the substitution of Guiel, but it certainly continues the trend of the mis-management of the Royals. It is time for Baird to go. Our 1st round picks have improved over the last few years, but overall our drafts have yeilded little else in the latter rounds.

I agree Costa needs to stay up with the big boys. Guys like Guiel and Robinson serve no purpose on this team other than being stop-gaps.

There is superstitious... writing on the wall.
Like a thread has anything to do with minimal pitching talent.

The guy in his mid 30s has almost 1000 ML at-bats. I think it's safe to assume he isn't going to turn into Tony Gwynn.

Whatever - I'm not sold on Costa. I don't think he'll amount to anything more than a 4th outfielder. I don't really care for Kerry Robinson, but the way he has played over the last 2 weeks - how can you send him back down over Costa? Maybe later once he cools off. But that would be just like the Royals to send down some of the guys who have provided pop over the last week to make room for the injured guys coming back who have done squat other than contribute to the collective lifelessness of this team.

I'm not saying we're a great team now, or even better than we were at the start of the year, but at least they are playing like they care. And until that ends, let's not mess it up - except for the fact that Minkeivicz (sp) has no business being in the lineup, let alone batting 3rd.

Guiel doesn't desereve to be an everyday major leaguer. I won't waver from that even if he scores the next 5 game winning runs.
