Where does eveyone stand on smoking bans?

I think it should be up to the owner, and would even be willing to have it up to the owner if you have to be 21 to enter. City wide is bullshit IMO

I agree with that in theory. However, in practice around KC that meant only three or four places were non-smoking. The great majority of owners were too chicken to alienate that one or two smokers.

Several times my wife and I would pick a place for dinner where no one was smoking. We'd sit down and be enjoying our food when a smoker would show up, sit in the "smoking section" (which just happened to be on the other side of a half-wall from us) and light up while we were trying to enjoy our food. Then the assholes would get their food and put out their cigarette so they could enjoy their meal smoke free.

From my standpoint it sucks because 2 of the 4 casinos in KC (including the one I work at) are within the city limits, so this will probably cut into our business pretty substantially if smokers decide they want to head to the Argosy or Harrah's.

I think it's ironic all the pro-smoking guys are avoiding the incense question since it's the most analogous.

I think a majority of smokers are Ok with reeking the rest of the population out, but if the roles were reversed and they were the ones having to smell some nasty oder on their clothes for the rest of their day they'd be bitching up a storm too.

I never really cared for them to be honest because I don't smoke cigarettes, but I don't normally care if people smoke around me as long as they aren't blowing smoke directly in my face.

Having that said it is nice to come home from a bar and the next morning my jeans and shirt don't smell like an ash tray.
