Some how that becomes, "For the second night in a row, they choked away a late game lead against Chicago. " Guess you did not get a chance to watch any of the games.
I'm sorry, but if you go into the bottom of the 9th leading, and at the end of the 9th, you haven't won, YOU HAVE CHOKED.

New to baseball?

And BTW, I checked the box score from last night's game. LA scored one run in the 4th, Chicago scored 3 in the 7th. So what part of "choked away a late game lead" isn't accurate?

Here is my ideal scenerio for the cubs. They make the world series. It goes to a 7th game at Wrigley. They have the lead going into the 9th. Kerry Wood comes in and blows it. How's that to celebrate 100 years of futility

Shit. That would require them to make the playoffs two years in a row. I don't think that's happened in 100 years, either.

That is true, but honestly that is the worse i could come up with as far as how much a loss would hurt. If you just suck and don't make the playoffs oh well, but to come SO close hurts the most.

Screw that. 100 is a good number, but so is 63 - that's the number of years it's been since they went to a world series and lost.

Both numbers should continue to grow.

The thing is, we are going to be getting our Vets back and there is what 100 games left in the season. All they have to do is go on a 8-10 game win streak and they are right there again. I believe it will happen. I have no clue if they will make it into the post season, but they will give it a go. We miss Furcal badly.

Considering how decimated the Cardinals were by injuries last year, the fact that they stayed competitive as long as they did was impressive.

At least they were spared the humiliation of getting swept out of the playoffs in the first round. You see, for the Cardinals, that would suck. Of course, for the Cubs, it's a milestone achievement.

One man's trash is another man's treasure, I guess.

I must admit, I clicked on Monday's game when the Cubs jumped to the 2-0 lead and won 3-1. My bad.

As far as choke goes...do not see it. Losing a 1-0 lead in the 9nth sucks. Saito blew the save. Does it amount to CHOKE??? Hell no! That game was up for grabs the entire night. A 1-0 is about as precarious as they come.

Got no problem with you hating the Dodgers. Just found it kinda funny the way you attempted to describe the series. It was actually some pretty damn good ball. Yes, the Dodgers did get swept. Such is baseball.

So in your opinion every time a team has a 1 run lead and lose the lead it is a choke? One run leads are lost every day in baseball...that is the way the game is.
