We've been to Shel-Ha, Tulum and Chitzinitza (back when they allowed you to go to the pyramids and visit the entire site).

I liked Cancun but great prefer Cabo, mainly due to the travel time from Los Angeles (2 hours versus 6 hours) and the humidity. Though I feel that Cancun is far more "Americanized" than Cabo.

The Hotel Zone might as well be Orlando. NTTATWWT.

Yep, those are the ones. Cancun and Cabo are both totally commercial but I love Cancun. For one thing the water on the Caribbean is second to none. I love rafting out to Isla Mujeras and looking to the bottom of that water.

We used to hire a boat to float us down the jungle river, catch fish then dock at some hut where they would prepare the fish and sides for our dinner. Yummy good.

Long ago when I was younger we did the "drop peyote at the bottom then climb to the top of the pyramid and trip all day thing". I'm not advocating illegal drug use but that was some cool shit.
