I'm a Buckeye fan, but let's be real here. The Buckeyes were supposed to get crushed tonight and actually played one hell of a game. They were a missed tackle away at the end from maybe pulling it off. Not bad with a Freshman QB against one of the best QBs in the country. Hopefully this leads to the Bucks finally firing their offensive coordinator. But this was a lot closer a game than I expected.

The Big 10 took a pretty big hit this year. But this game was much better than a lot of people thought it would be.

You know, I think the Big 10 is actually heading in the right direction. I believe that because of the play of Northwestern and Minnesota. You know OSU and Penn St., will contend just about every year. Michigan will be back. Michigan St and Iowa have 2 very solid programs with great head coaches. Add a young Pat Fitzgerald and a guy like Ron Zook who does an excellent job of recruiting and we will be strong.

For OSU to succeed, Pryor just needs to learn proper passing techniques. What people never mentioned, was the absence of Pryor's favorite receiver. From what my wife told me, Hartline was suspended for missing curfew.

My DVR has a 90 minute buffer, so I can pause live tv for 90 minutes and then catch up later. So, if I'm watching live TV and decide to pause it for a long period of time, it'll automatically start playing after 90 minutes because it's at the end of the buffer.

See, the Big 10 is like my DVR. It's been 'paused' for 30 years and now it's at the end of the buffer and it's being forced to move forward, even if it's against it's will. 'No where to go but up', if you need a cliché.

Seriously though, with that kind of rushing attack, between the power run and Pryor's athleticism, all that's needed is some experience stretching the field (and I was impressed they took some shots tonight). I must say, it was a little exciting watching OSU tonight, and I've been known to not like the Big 10.

As for the rest of the Big 10, maybe Northwestern's play and Iowa's program (Iowa didn't have a real bad loss, they beat PSU, and won their bowl game... wow).... but I wasn't all that impressed with Minnesota, and MSU did squat this year.

Wow. Before last night, I thought being a grumpy old man was just Skip's schtick. I'm beginning to think he really is an arrogant, judgemental asshole. Some things are just uncalled for.
