The phenomenon of new users coming in and finding it irresistible to cannonball into the pool is not uncommon. It's so pervasive in fact that said behavior gets the derisive 'noob' comment.

It's akin to saying, 'Hey everyone, some new jackass came in and just dropped his pants for attention', but simply stating 'noob' is faster.
