The Patriots don't have a lot of holes, and really have more picks than open slots. With that in mind, it's pretty nice to be able to get a guy who can contribute for them in two capacities with this pick. Gostkowski doesn't have a massive leg for kickoffs, so in addition to fourth downs, he can help after the numerous Patriot scoring drives. In addition to almost chopping his leg in half 6 years ago, Hanson was 20th in the league in punting average last year.
