If its a financial issue, then why don't the Chiefs just let their time run out, and let a few teams pick ahead of them?

If they really want Raji or Crabtree they could probably snag them at #6 no problem. Let the Seahawks, Browns, and Raiders go ahead of you.

You won't get any compensation, but you also wont have to pay a ridiculous contract to an unworthy player.

This is a reerun idea, whoever you take is going to claim they are really the 3rd pick.

Not really.

The Chiefs are in a ****ed up spot here. Nobody they pick at #3 is worth #3 money. They stall, pick sixth, they pay sixth pick money.

Philip Rivers was selected #4 overall by the Giants, he sat out because he wanted #1 money (even though Eli Manning was taken #1). In the end, he got #4 money.

What about when the Vikings picked Kevin Williams? They stalled to get him. What happened there?

But he was still picked number 4. Different situation.

No agent is going to let the Chiefs get away with paying number 6 money from the team that picked 3rd.
