I fully admit that I'm not very savvy when it comes to football, but while watching the Chiefs game this weekend, CBS suddenly turned to the Jets' game instead (I'm not really sure why). Anyway, the Jets had a QB named Sanchez that seemed really good a throwing the ball (which is, I think, the primary goal of a QB). So, I started thinking: "I think this is the chap who the Chiefs could have drafted this year, but didn't."

Is that correct?

If so, how much are the Jets paying this Sanchez fellow in comparison to Cassel?

Didnt see it until after I replied. Familiar with how talented some JUCO's are. lol... depends on how "tough" a D2 academic requirements are to meet. Its a fine line between qualifying and not.

Like i said, you don't know anything about that process. Saying shit like "JUCO isn't even high school level" is perhaps one of the most idiotic things I've ever read regarding football. There are a shit ton of players in the NFL who went through JUCO. Some for academic reasons, some for other reasons. you simply have no idea as to what you are talking about and neither does anyone else here because they have never done anything.

And as I noted, JUCO was not the highest level I played at, just the only one I'm going to talk about.

The difference in D2 and D1 qualification right now is D1 requires 16 "core classes" taken in high school at 2.4 GPA (generally) while D2 requires 14 "core classes" at 2.0 GPA, though D2 will require 16 core classes taken starting in 2013. (NAIA requirements are a joke. They have to meet two of the following four requirements: have an ACT of 18, an SAT of 860, graduate high school with a 2.0 GPA, graduate in the 50th percentile or better of your class or have a GED. You almost have to be dead to not have two of those).

That explains, ChiefsCountry, why UCM was able to get some guys that MSU couldn't. Its not a large difference, however, and the difference is trending smaller. As for Truman, they compete strongly in a number of sports. Football isn't one of them right now; that could change some if they ever get their program's house in order.
