It's a first day purchase for sure.

An attorney friend of mine is taking the day off to play it (he has the flexibility to take off pretty much anytime he wants to).

I've got a little of that flexibility as well and think I might do the same.

Yeah, pretty shitty - don't know why they'd do that. Going to be interesting to see how the PC community responds...

I'm not going to buy it right off the bat, now. $60 for Call of Duty 4, with less features? I'll wait for it to drop in price.

I know there is a great deal of PC gamers that are not going to get this without dedicated servers. Canceled my pre-order and our clan canceled the pre-order for a server.

I urge any gamers to sign this petition that will be forwarded to IW and Activision. http://www.petitiononline.com/dedis4mw/petition.html

GN writes, "Yesterday, in a barrage of media announcements, it was made abundantly clear that Infinity Ward has no plans to support standard dedicated servers in their upcoming game Modern Warfare 2. The community immediately responded by posting several petitions on the official IW forums, two of which were largely successful. The two biggest petitions averaged 250-300 pages in length, totaling several thousand signatures each (it is unknown how many were duplicate signatures between the two). Infinity Ward responded in force, and closed down the two largest petitions overnight.

When gamers checked for them this morning..."

The above petition has not been "shutdown" by IW. They have stated they will let it go. 72,000 + signatures already. At $60.00 a game they are looking at $4,320,000 in lost revenue. Although this is just the hardcore PC clan type gamers, it is a significant loss of revenue.

Here is the link to Infinity Wards thread on the petition. http://www.infinityward.com/forum/vi...?f=24&t=123824

Yep. It's very clear they just want to cater to console kiddies. F them.

Hahah. I have a nice rig, but I'll be playing it on the 360, just because that's how I played COD 4-1. I think the game was made to be played on consoles, but I can't be a true judge because the only COD I played on PC was the original one.

The only true PC mutliplayer shooter to me always has and always will be Counter-Strike. The BF series as well I guess, but I never played them competitively.
