A few random observations after reviewing the game

1. The Steelers are dirty pricks. Hines Ward, Heath Miller, whoever the one who sucks the penis was that walloped Cassel WELL after his shovel TD pass was released - dirty pricks. Late hits all over the place. We should have been moved up 15 yards on the kickoff after that late hit on Cassel's TD. For shame.

2. The Chiefs scored their first offensive touchdown (Pope) with a particular play. They ran the exact same play, with slightly different personnel, on Chambers 61-yard catch and run. I couldn't believe it. On the first snap, obviously Chambers was covered short, and the Steelers screwed up the deep coverage. On the second snap, the Steelers had the deep receivers crossing covered up, and Chambers came free underneath. Props to Haley for drawing up something that works so well?

3. Derrick Johnson is going to be the lead on GIF'D UP this week. Not even close. He missed so many tackles yesterday it made me sick, and obviously he screwed up the coverage on Mendenhall's short TD catch. **** it, he's a bust. Time to cut losses and move on. Belcher and Mays may not make as many huge plays but they have been FAR more consistent.

4. Branden Albert played a much, much better game this week. The tape might show that he allowed two sacks, but the second one was really Cassel holding onto the ball too long. The first was off play action. I thought other than those two plays he was very solid. O'Callaghan did not fare as well.

5. The play that everyone may be forgetting about is 3rd and 2 down by the goalline, right before we tied it up. They gave Charles the ball and there was NOWHERE to run. He created on his own, got outside, and 2nd effort got the first down. Simply put, a play LJ never would have come close to making. Wow, if Charles doesn't pull that out of his ass, does Haley go for it? Or does he puss out and Herm it up?

6. The OTHER play everyone may be forgetting about is the deflected pass by Tyson Jackson. From what it looked like to me, he had Heath Miller wide open down the middle with room to run. If T-Jack doesn't get a paw on that ball, Miller puts the Steelers in FG range with under a minute left in regulation. Sometimes, it truly is the little things.

7. Brian Waters is the most penalized guard in the entire NFL. He has seven penalties this year, but I didn't realize how bad that was until I compared him to the other guards (via Pro Football Focus and stats.com). He's washed up. I hope he's not back next season.

yes, that was an amazing play. charles seems to get stronger as the game goes along, and seems to make the big first down when they need it the most. very impressed with him so far.

DJ is worth keeping as a situational player. That sack he had was really impressive. He absolutely blew up the RB on that play, took him into the backfield, and finished the job by getting Big Ben to the ground, which we had a tough time doing all day.

Granted, he may screw up a lot, but he makes plays that our other LB's can't make.

Yeah, but he knows he can go somewhere else and start and probably make more money. Especially as a 4-3 WLB.

Adios.

Thanks.
There was a penalty on the play. From NFL.COM...

http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/200911...ost-playbyplay

1-10-PIT 20 (1:47) (Shotgun) 7-B.Roethlisberger sacked at PIT 16 for -4 yards (56-D.Johnson). PENALTY on KC-92-W.Gilberry, Illegal Contact, 5 yards, enforced at PIT 20 - No Play.

And one other huge play in the game was this one in OT...

3-2-KC 35 (10:43) 21-M.Moore right end to KC 38 for -3 yards (59-J.Belcher).

This play forced the punt instead of a 52 yard FG attempt that probably would have beaten us.

Actually, you would be wrong again. DJ's 1/2 sack came in the OT on this play...

2-3-KC 49 (12:53) 7-B.Roethlisberger sacked at PIT 50 for -1 yards (sack split by 56-D.Johnson and 96-A.Studebaker). PIT-7-B.Roethlisberger was injured during the play. PENALTY on PIT-62-J.Hartwig, Offensive Holding, 10 yards, enforced at PIT 50.

That was the play where DJ's knee hit Big Ben in the head.

Hines Ward is a douchebag and could be the reason that leads me to hate the Steelers.

These. He's far too inconsistent to be a starter, but, can make plays. Good to have him as a reserve LB. He can come in off the bench make a play and give us a fresh set of legs. Nothing more than a role player. Which is still okay. Id take him as that.

I liked the play where Studebaker took on a double team during a pitch, broke through, forced the runner inside and caught a leg till helped showed up.

He had a great game.
