Not my choice. Place of work played it over the speakers. Otherwise I wouldn't ever listen to it.

But it made talk radio's crazies look relatively sane.

You have blimp in your post...I'm sure you meant blip but just seeing the word blimp makes me think of Mangino. I know juvenile but still kinda funny.

Dan Patrick was all over Mangino today...he replayed his interview with him from 2007 when they talked about his weight holding him down from getting a head coaching job.

Man, the one and done rule really pisses me off. I can only imagine how great OSU's program would be if they were able to keep that talent for a couple of years. Conley, Oden, Koufas, Cook, Mullens, Turner, Lauderdale, Hunter, and Buford. I know that all programs deal with this, but it seems as though this is all that Thad Matta recruits.

96.5 is worse. I never listen to 93.3, but it has to be. 98.9 sports talk is reeruned too, but they're the best of the FM bunch. (Dare's seggment with Leif Lisec - Sports in your Shorts)

That said, I'd rather listen to any of those tards talk sports than Roger Twibel. He's still pissed of that his golfing buddy CP got fired.

I do like Steven St. John's show.

At least on a Sports show the host usually moderates the discussion in some sort of sane way - weighing the credibility of what's being said. On Mix today, there was so much stupid and misinformation that it could have filled an encyclopedia. And no moderation - just pure soapbox.

The ACC was the clear winner of the conferences during the early signing period. Seven teams from the conference rank among the top 25 recruiting classes in 2010, and 21 nationally ranked players signed with a school from the ACC.

Rivals.com recruiting analyst Jerry Meyer breaks down and rank the recruiting efforts of each conference for the early signing period.

Rivals ranks the Early Signing Period:

1. ACC
2. SEC
3. BIG EAST
4. BIG TEN
5. BIG 12

The Big 12 gained a third team in the national rankings during the early signing period when five-star forward Tony Mitchell signed with Missouri. The Tigers, which also have four-star point guard Phil Pressey, are the top team in the conference. Texas A&M (No. 2 in the conference) and Baylor (No. 3 in the conference) are also ranked nationally. The Aggies have a bevy of big men on the way, and Baylor has elite power forward Perry Jones headlining its class. Oklahoma and Oklahoma State just missed a national ranking but have strong classes. Texas also signed a five-star big man, Tristan Thompson, as its only recruit.

Ranking the classes (national rank)
1. Missouri (12)
2. Texas A&M (21)
3. Baylor (24)
4. Oklahoma
5. Oklahoma State
6. Texas
7. Kansas State
8. Iowa State
9. Kansas
10. Texas Tech
11. Nebraska
12. Colorado

Top Dogs: Best at each position

Point guard: Phil Pressey, Missouri

Shooting guard: Royce Woolridge, Kansas

Small forward: Tony Mitchell, Missouri

Power forward: Perry Jones, Baylor

Center: Keith Davis, Texas A&M

I still think Steve Moore will be what makes our 2010/2011 season.

If he can get himself in shape, he has the tools to replace some of the physical presence we lost with Carroll.

If not, we're still undertalented in the front-court.

I expect we'll take a step back this season. (Same thing I said about football season) The Big XII is stacked this year. But I love the direction CMA is taking the program.. and the recruits he's pulling in.

The style Anderson runs... gives you a shot to beat anyone. It's tough as hell to deal with...

So, I figure Mizzou will have a pretty decent team. Pull off a couple of upsets, and make the tourney again. Anything after that is gravy.

That'd be a good season, In my mind.

The rival fans who think the Mangino situation will benefit them need only to look back to KU losing Roy Williams. The really dumb ones thought it would bring KU down. But, in fact, they got an even better coach. And another national title. Perkins may have a surprise waiting for us.

Agreed, 09/10 will be a re-building year. We'll need guys like Miguel Paul, Denmon and Dixon (especially) to emerge as better leaders throughout the season (learning under Tiller and Taylor).

Then in 10/11 with a backcourt led by Pressy and Dixon (backed by some solid veteran leaders in Paul/Denmon), a frontcourt centered around Moore/Bowers/English (with Mitchell as a very dangerous reserve), MU should be pretty dangerous.

It's a fun ballclub.

Uhh the difference is that KU has a storied history in basketball and was able to attract top candidates for the opening. Also, Roy Williams did not leave amid controversy.

Kansas football has absolutely no history and the best coach in the programs history is likely being ousted amid a smear campaign. Yeah i'm sure Bum****, Kansas is a real big draw for top coaching candidates. And while I have no knowledge of my own on the subject, based on the posts of others in this thread Lew Perkins does not have a very good history with hiring football coaches.

Perkins may have a surprise waiting for you guys? I seriously doubt it.
