The thing of it is it's not just that they won back then it's how they played and were perceived. KC was considered an innovative team ahead of their time. Beleive it or not they were somewhat of a national team pulling in fans with no ties to the area because they were good, exciting to watch and one of the most creative teams. Even during marty's best years you would have never heard them described that way.
At least you have an excuse my dad was a giants fan and brothers were browns fan and a raiders fan
My brother the raiders fan got me into the afl but didn't try to force a team on me.So in reality it was a raiders fan who made me a chiefs fan
