I don't go out for NYE for the same reasons I don't go out for St. Patricks day and any other drinking holiday - DUI checkpoints, outrageous cover charges, 2 hours waits for cabs and drinks, and d-bags in ed hardy t-shirts who act like its their 21st birthday.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind ending up at some dive bar, instead of the Plaza, Westport, or the P&L tonight... even though I could walk home from the Plaza if I had to. Google Maps does walking routes... I wonder if they have a Drunken Walking Route.
