And I'm not even a Cassel fan, but he's going to be given more than 1 season to show he is or is not the guy.

I know all the bullshit arguments that will come forth.

"He's not a rookie, he's a seasoned vet" blah blah ****ing blah. I don't give a shit. I'm talking about reality. They gave him 60 mil. Even if Cassel never improves on this season (which I actually think he will, even if I'm not a fan), GM's don't admit to failures that quickly. Pioli will give him every chance to prove that he's right. He drafted him, he signed him to a 60 million dollar contract. Those of you you think that Pioli is going to turn right around and draft a QB with our first pick are ****ing morons. Yes, you are. It's ENTIRELY out of the question so please stop wasting discussion time with it.

With Tyler Thigpen and Damon Huard delivering the ball.

We DIDN'T have drop issues before Cassel got here - with the exception of Bowe.

No one else on the roster had more than 4 last year. 4 drops over a 16 game season is NOTHING.

And nowhere did I blame Cassel for the drops. I'm simply responding to your dumbass statement that this team had drops issues prior to Cassel becoming the QB.

You really refuse to learn a damned thing, don't you? How many games did all the "other" receivers play for K.C. last season, how many catches did they have there, how many passes were thrown to them, etc...?

This shouldn't be as difficult as rocket science, even for you.

Note on Cottam, for example, from draft analysis:

Needs to improve concentration, and tends to look up the defender before making the catch, resulting in a few drops of easy throws...With his size and arm reach, he should be catching more contested balls than he has, as he doesn't always jump and adjust to take the ball away from the defender, despite having the strength to do so.

I cannot account for the number of dropped passes which last year was pushing double-digits. But, otherwise, Chambers is a solid player who can really be a fine player in the right system with the right QB.

Chambers amount of drops had already been documented by PFT before he was even released I believe. Either way, Chambers is very well known for making spectacular catches and dropping lots of easy passes.
