Neither Clausen nor Bradford have the arm that Shanahan wants in his quarterback. There is no way that Seattle doesn't use Hasslebeck for several more seasons and as such, offensive tackle was a much higher priority. Gailey used Tyler Thigpen as his quarterback. Brian Brohm is going to look like freaking Johnny Unitas by comparison. (And I also think that they make a strong move for Michael Vick, but regardless, Gailey will get by with Brohm better than he ever did with Thigpen.) Jacksonville is taking Tebow in the third and Garrard is coming off a 3,500 yd. 83.5 rating season. They aren't beating him out. San Francisco has a lot of time and money invested in Alex Smith and he was playing very well at the end of last year. They aren't going to burn a high draft pick on a quarterback. Dallas has nothing behind Romo (Kitna? Please.), and could use this as a motivational tool for getting Tony to pick it up n the playoffs. As well, I don't see the problem with Dallas taking Bradford, having him learn the system and the NFL and be ready to take the job over in three or four years. If you were the Owner/GM of the Cowboys, would you be feeling good about having John Kitna as your #2? I just don't see any teams really falling in love with either quarterback to pick them over bigger needs or guys later in the draft that are just as capable. |
