There's going to be other guys there is why I said that.

If Mays magically fell to 50, then I'd say ok take another safety.

You can get a NT in the third, Tate is a slot guy and Kindle will probably be gone at 36.

You can't fill all of your needs in one round.

One of those rushers is going to be there....

But this team has to get some front 7 guys, even if you get 2 safeties and have a badass secondary you'll get run on.

Well, I don't think the Chiefs take Griffen. Too much potential, not enough college production. He supposedly "jumped" due to his Combine but I just can't see him as a Pioli pick.

There's no way the Chiefs can fill all of their holes in one year

No but at the same time, I don't really think taking 2 safeties is the recipe for success.

I like Mays as much as anyone but if you badly want another safety, just wait and take Chad Jones.

Actually, I do. You'd have two young safeties in Mays and Berry and two very good corners in Carr and Flowers. The secondary would be set for a minimum of 4 more years (free agency).

If they grab a ILB like Washington or Lee at 50 and a NT in the third, this defense has just made a huge jump.

Obviously, they'd still need a rushbacker but they could probably grab Selvie in the fifth.

Yeah...the more I think of this, the less I think this is a good idea in any way. Technically, we have Jarad Page...and it sounds like Haley wants his safeties to be interchangeable...so maybe Page and Berry are both on the field when the season begins. Page doesn't look so bad when you know he's next to Berry...especially when compared with Brown...McGraw...Morgan...

Mays is interchangeable too, the reason people get geeked on Mays is because he is an enforcer the idea of another team being scared to cross the middle is nice.

Yeah...but I guess I'm just hoping that a healthy Page is a good enough stop-gap that allows us to address other positions that might have higher value and getting a later round safety, since it's deep. At the end of the day, I want BPA from the first round talent still available.

I'd be ok with using a 5 on Myron Rolle, having 2 of the smartest guys on the team be the safeties would fix a lot.

Myron Rolle in the 5th would be awesome. He's a smart dude and a Pioli type of player.

Then perhaps that's what the Chiefs need. They need an enforcer in a bad way. While Mays need some work, you just simply can't discount his speed, and the secondary needs plenty of that, especially if you're facing quality receivers these days.
