I am not a fan of any of the above. AdAware and Spybot used to be pretty good, probably the best to use at one time. However, many other tools have surpassed these.

I still believe hijack this is still one of the better tools to use to find malware and crap. Removing it, is another thing.

...however, one thing I thought about adding to the original post was something about making sure you're downloading from a legit site, and I could see why someone might think the Hitman Pro site is iffy since it's .nl. So, I might link to cnet or something to avoid any confusion or the false positive.
